Literature Text

You are the Sun, shining golden in the late summer sky
ablaze with strength and abundant warmth
cloaked in your humble majesty

I am the Moon, cold and calloused, dressed in rags of a once beautiful dress
when you slink past the horizon into the oblivion of your peaceful slumber
I rise, pale and wide eyed to watch you dream

For you sleep as one
unperturbed by the world and chaos
clothed incognito around you

Sometimes I catch you, between the border of reality and dreams
just before you slip into the sea
And your golden rays pierce my raw heart with a heat of such intensity

So close, i whisper in the dark
shadowed in a nocturnal winter forest
As you are lured oblivious into dreams of your soft, blissful world

I reach out with fingers of ice to  touch the warmth of your soul,
yet always in the last moment at dusk you fade beyond my grasp
eluding me

I am the Moon
You are the Sun
I am racing, racing to catch up

We are never to be side by side in unity
for I am the dark
you are the light

I am the Moon
You are the Sun
As you rise I fall, and as you fall I rise...
A piece I rattled out of my brain on 3 hours of decent sleep, and an inability to dream.
